5 pointsI think much of it stems from the way LYLA used to operate. It was a community of like minded individuals and mentions of BP were not permitted because the site itself was exclusive. There was a mindset of participation on both fronts and was considered a good gauge of both clients and ladies. People spent a lot of time establishing themselves as reputable. The decision was then made to allow discussion on BP and there was a shift more towards hobbyists than providers and participation dropped off somewhat. It didn't matter if you participated or were established or even on the board anymore and most of the discussions were about people not here. Then C36 hit and this became more prominant. Not saying it's a bad thing...just a big change in the board and the way it's used. I'm all for people being safe.
-
4 pointsI think part of the reason for more activity is that prior to BO being permitted here, you could look up many profiles and have a history of posts or recos so people felt comfortable with the knowledge they gained by that or could see who to contact via PM if they needed more info on someone. Now, most of the BP ladies are not here and many are "new" in the sense they haven't been around long (read a year or more) and there is very little information so in order to gain some, the conversation has to begin. Mind you, there are a lot of cross conversations or redundant ones whether from lack of search knowledge, time, effort etc. As has been said, being safe is very important especially with the way things are now. Just most of the local conversations are focused on BP.
-
4 pointsI can understand people wanting to use this section to help find information on someone they are interested in. Yes, sometimes it would be nice if everyone would use google image search or tineye themselves first, or check to see if a conversation already exists, as it seems doing all that would preclude the need for half the threads. But that's a problem all forums have and nothing new. And while in some cases it may be laziness but we have to keep in mind that what seems common sense for some is new and unknown to others. And at the end of the day I'd rather people ask and so be safe. Helping each other avoid scams is best for all of us--gents and legitimate ladies alike--isn't it? I like the idea of this board being primarily about community, but safety and information are legitimate aspects as well. A nice thing is that it isn't an either/or scenario. As this very thread proves, when an engaging topic or question is posed that catches people's interest, people will contribute and converse.

2 pointsThe reality is that BP does not have a discussion forum. Lyla does. Yes, its frustrating when guys are asking about new BP ladies, or ladies that have been around and can't be discussed. However, the guys do want to see more then their regulars. This is the nature of the business. So, yes, they come here to see if anyone has seen a new girl posting on BP. I always try to encourage these new ladies create an account here. Most don't know about it. Lyla is the only site that allows civil discussions. So, instead of complaining, lets encourage it.

2 pointsI agree with you Roaminguy that thinking of our retirement ahead of time is our responsibility. But I wish that such financial matters were taught in schools in a serious way. I don't know about here in schools, but in France (where I grew up) it is not taught at all. Managing your bank account properly, doing a budget, understanding that paying bills on time works well for your credit, but knowing when to avoid using credit, how to do savings and investments, RRSPs etc... and prepare for life as well as retirement. Therefore, in Europe, a lot of people grew up and grow up thinking that saving or investing is for "others who already have money" or "rich people". There is a book that I really love that should be offered to any teenager. It is "Rich by Thirty (A young adult's guide to financial success" by Lesley Scorgie (Key Porter books, 14.95$). And it is of interest to anybody who has not a clue at all about all these financial matters that are so important. And don't get mislead by the title, the way it is written and presented is very wise and educational, not a recipe to become a millionaire as soon as possible, but to make understand people, especially young ones, that the sooner they start the better, how to do it, and how their lifestyle has an impact on their finances. Everybody brought so many interesting points in this thread that I have changed my mind on a few things since I started it! Thanks everybody.
-
2 pointsI'm going to sound somewhat selfish here. First it is incumbent on each and every person to prepare for his/her own retirement. And a person needs to retire when he/she is prepared, financially and emotionally to leave work. People when they start working should prepare for retirement, be it get a job with a pension plan, save RRSPs/TFSA's etc. Thinking some young worker starting out is going to support you in retirement is in my opinion just wishful thinking But he/she shouldn't worry about someone looking for a job and retire just to create a vacancy for them. Why should a employed person's employment be less important than someone looking to be employed if that makes sense There is also the other consideration that some jobs once a person retires are gone, never to be replaced. So someone may retire thinking they are helping someone, but in fact when they retire, the job is gone for good. Personally retire when ready and for yourself. Don't retire for someone else A rambling from a retiree RG

1 pointSo I began this thread because if you are like me...I JUST LOVE MOVIES! Movies define me, they make want things I never knew I wanted. They shape me in a way that nothing else does. Like a life all their own...but yet I am there! Tonight I am watching "The Walk" very worth renting and I am only 15 min and can tell right away this one does not disappoint at all! I rented off the roku and for 5.99 well worth it!

1 pointIf you've concerns, why come here to this board? Typically ladies get on here last, so the massive amounts of random posts about this one and that one is now taking over our discussion boards in NS! Why?!? You men not doing your home work and instantly coming here to vent or what? Surely there's other things to talk about then Ashley,Tiffany, Brandi,MissCanada, Deborah from bp or cl etc... These silly posts are ruining good chats/discussions we could be having... My oponion only. Hehe...

1 pointIsn't the "Escort Discussion for Nova Scotia" section the perfect spot to discuss... um... well... escorts from Nova Scotia? ;) Seriously though. I don't see the issue with people feeling free to ask questions, as long as they follow the rules of the site. If someone doesn't like to read all of those posts, then that is their choice. I don't read them all myself unless I might have something useful to add, but I think people should feel free to ask, and benefit from the experiences of others. The nice thing about this site is that it only allows for the positive responses so it doesn't degenerate into name calling and bashing. I also suspect that many of the new members to this site (hobbiests and sp's alike) arrive here based on finding these discussions. I think it would be counter productive to limit the discussion to members only. If it is a matter of desiring more stimulating topics in this section, then by all means please start these discussions. I agree that it would be refreshing. Just my thoughts. And I mean these comments with all due respect. (And I really mean that Amelia. I am a fan ;) ) I just couldn't help but notice a lack of activity of any kind in this section since this thread, and I don't believe that this benefits anyone. Mikey

1 pointLife is funny at best. Some of us plan things - education, courting, marriage, kids, mortgage, career.. and then, ahh.. retirement. We work and work to provide for ourselves and family. Most of us plan to retire from work and start striking off bucket list items (travel, hobbies, etc). For many of us, life doesn't turn out as we "planned". Far from a straight line, our tapestry ends up looking like a figure-8. Then there is the old "live life to the fullest everyday" motto - again, for some of us, we're just trying to survive the day and start new the next day. There's the conundrum. Youth brings with it the health required for travel and other hobbies, but little in resources to execute. Age brings knowledge and wisdom (maybe) and perhaps more resources, but then our health begins to decline. At 47, I was forced into retirement (cutbacks from a previous federal government). But I was fortunate - still fairly healthy and had a few coins in the pocket.. no pension, but a few loonies in my RRSP. As with many things, I saw a silver lining. I get to sleep in until 7am on most days, I get to set my own schedule on most days. I volunteer with various organizations, so my mind and body are active. And the roof is still overhead and there's a table to put food on. While I can't afford to dine at Beckta every night, I can indulge in Swiss Chalet now and then.. and I go canoeing on the Ottawa River instead of taking cruises on the Mediterranean :-) I think the notion of "freedom 55" is outdated in 2016. But our western society depends on "older" folks to retire so that employable youth get a chance to start their adventures. Is it a social duty - yes, I think so - but 'mandatory' retirement by a certain age is becoming a dream for too many honest, hard-working folks. I'll be "retired" for three years next month. If I am careful with the finances, I should be ok. Fewer Starbucks lattés and more homemade coffee in a travel mug! Perhaps the "live life to the fullest" has more to do with attitude than the activity... CM

1 pointAll I can say is money......well.......spent. They were both very accommodating and we had a few laughs. Would definitely see them again and recommend them. Watching the two of then work their magic was terrific. Also, Cleo has the nicest set of &$)@ I may have seen in my entire life. Two enthusiastic thumbs way up. The duo is worth it.

1 pointI have seen in a Dollarama and a McDonald's employees who were in their mid 70ies. I really don't know what to think about this because I did this kind of job in my 20ies when I was a student, and these are certainly not the best jobs to get. I felt bad to see people in their mid 70ies working there but at the same time if they do need the money, what choice do they have? But still, I find it very disturbing and sad that some people in their mid 70ies have to work in such places because their pension is not enough.

1 pointI think and having a university degree is not what it used to be. back 50 or so years it almost guaranteed a job but now it is all about the luck of finding and getting lucky with getting employment, and having a diploma can help but not like in the past. Thank being said i do think that a university degree still has its place, when i went for my degree it was less about work and more for the sense of accomplishment even thou It might have been a burden money wise and not used for my job. it is still something i can look back on. so to answer your question no I think a degree does not guarantee a career with the way the job market is, so i think it should be used for your own pursuit of knowledge, and as a accessory for you life's goals and not as a sure thing. Have a great day all TC

1 pointI think you're being just a bit unfair and mean to both the men that visit BP and providers that advertise there. Some of the most respected and well reviewed women that reside on Lyla also advertise on backpage, including yourself. Men are just trying to sort through the sketchy and the fantastic. If it is so sketchy, then why are you there? Of the thousands of ads I've seen there I only recall seeing one that offered uncovered service. Portraying them all as offering dirty barebakc providers is hyperbole. My own observations tell me there most certainty has been upward movement of prices here driven by a shift in demand as hobbiests have retreated to safer dates under the new legislative regime. And yes, this is EXACTLY where we should be bringing quality providers that don't yet have a Lyla account. Some women don't want to be there because they don't want this to be their life. I talked to some that are just trying to support their families through a bad patch and then they want out. That's neither cheap or dirty. I understand there is a financial incentive to shut down discussion of off site providers. At one time there was even a rule here to ban even the mention of backpage. It was unenforceable, largely tolerated, and didn't allow for men to stay safe through sharing of experiences. In their wisdom, staff changed the rules to permit such discussions, and Lyla is stronger now as discussion has flourished (as likely ad hits have, too). Respectfully, please let us do so, as the rules permit, without attacks on anyone's character or hygiene. I would suggest if these posts bother you so much then you can choose to not click and not read them.

1 pointI'm just shy of 5'11".. and while some people find it a bit intimidating.. especially if they're vertically challenged.. I assure them I'm a pussycat :) I don't find it an issue and I only wear heels when requested.. most find it exciting to be with a taller woman.. so it's fun for me when that attitude prevails.
-
1 point
-
1 pointPerspective from a short lady. I am 4'10" and I've seen all heights. I always look at it as a positive, being short I can climb in things than someone else couldn't, I could help a child in the play equipment (cause I am short) and while doing that, I have fun. I reach for things easier than if someone was taller than me, who would have a challenge. On the other hand, someone taller than me can help me reach for higher things in my cupboards, or see things at a different view than I can (birds eye view) I haven't came across anyone shorter than I am, although I would be grateful because I understand what being short is like. Besides, having a tall gentleman there's many different aspects we could enjoy. List goes on. Just have fun with height and think about the positives.
-
1 pointWell from my perspective your proposition is that a difference in height between a client and a lady could be a vertical challenge when in my experience that obvious outcome is a very fun and entertaining Horizontal solution. I am 6 ft tall and have seen tall and short ladies with great success (well in my opinion anyway... lol... they might have a different opinion). Of course when you are engaged in a rigorous game of.... Let's say tiddlewinks then you always have to think about angles and body position so as to best tiddle your wink. I have found that careful selection and usage of common things found in the game play area can make the world of difference... A well place pillow.... the selection of the perfect height table, bench or counter top... can make the world of difference .... bending at the knees when you manipulate the wink can have a wonderful impact allowing you to play to a level that will leave the person you are playing with either speechless or perhaps screaming at you for your extraordinary game play. One final suggestion that I have learned over the years of playing tiddlewinks and that is that proximity to the wink is extremely important in many cases you will find that great success can be had when you position yourself with your face adjacent to the wink so close in fact that you are breathing on it... this can be accomplished by ensuring your playing area is large and flat ( a bed is a great option) so that you can lie down and get your face up close to the wink so you can explore all the various playing angles.... this game of tiddlewinks is all about the details and if you take the time to do the hands on exploration needed I guarantee you it will drive the person you are playing with crazy. Hey but what do I know... I don't play professionally but I do like to wet my whistle from time to time. Just my Opinion

1 pointI really hate tooting my own horn but there's no denying that my legs are extremely strong due to martial arts and former weight lifting... muscle memory is an incredible thing. :-P Furthermore, Im well experienced in wrestling fetish as well as leg-holds/sparring. But as you can see there is no shortage of beautiful ladies with strong legs in Ottawa. Happy searching and best of luck in finding your gem! Kisses, Jessy xoxo xxx 613-793-4183
