3 pointsRule of thumb Google her images/phone number Tineye the same Does she have a website? Are there any discussions of her anywhere? 24/7 is a red flag party friendly is a red flag Multiple numbers/names - dig deeper Openly offering illegal services - HUGE red flag - circumventing censors is never good Telling you she is available RIGHT NOW - really, she doesn't need to freshen up? One thing to say, she is available with little notice, but another thing to say, come over right away. Most legit providers require some notice, as they are not sitting in their lingerie. Very young - 18-21 is sometimes an issue - be cautious if that is your thing. Good luck! xo

2 pointsIt's been almost 6 years here for me now. Just wanted to raise my yearly glass to toast the women of Lyla. I've met many more wonderful women here that have treated me like a king. Trouble is there are too many great women here now and it makes it difficult to decide who to see next. Some one new or one of my regulars.

2 pointsI never understand the threads about the new laws. The words are so technicals that I gave up long ago. All I know is what I do is legal, beneficial, and good for the economy. All I ask for is a safe place to work out of.

1 pointMissing in Action People who have been members here for a while know who it is that I am talking about. I myself plead guilty as I have posted very little in the past six months or more. CERB or now LYLA was a place that I used to log into every morning with my coffee, and then again multiple times daily. Now I have become complacent and truthfully rather bored. I know now and always have known the basic premise of what this site was about but it used to be a place where one could engage in good discussions on all sorts of things, both inside and outside of the sex industry. I miss those discussions a lot. I will not even begin to name the people who have stopped contributing to discussions here, but men and women members alike who are intelligent, well spoken, humorous, and who contributed ever so much more to this site than what I see here now, I miss you.

1 pointWe are now only six months into the Liberal majority government mandate and I am beginning to wonder. P.M. Trudeau has indeed already met some of his election promises (which is great) and there are indications that other promises are working their way through the system. I am very nervous and scared that they will ratify the TPP and that will be yet another global screwing of Canadians in order to support big business and the multinationals. On a level more pertinent to members here, I have yet to hear any indication that the Protection of Communities and Exploited Persons Act (Bill C-36) will be repealed, amended or even sent to the Supreme Court for interpretation of its legality. Perhaps this is in the works and understandably its probably not something that they want to publicly acknowledge, so I still have at least some minor hopes for action. I have for my entire adult life communicated with my local Member of Parliament or the various Prime Ministers and I always received a reply, if even only a form letter, until the Harper government took office. Since then nothing. I even occasionally had a phone call about whatever I wrote about from my M.P. Following the election I wrote under my own name to the Prime Minister Mr. Trudeau, the Justice Minister and Attorney General Jody Wilson-Raybould and to my local M.P. about the legislation based on Bill C-36. I received not even an acknowledgement so perhaps our present government is in reality little different from the past one. To my knowledge which is based solely on following web sites of the organizations that speak for sex workers, there is no lobbying going on to keep the subject in the mind of government at a Canadian level. I follow as best as I can P.O.W.E.R, Maggies, Stella and P.I.V.O.T., all of whom made presentations at the hearings on Bill C-36. My position prior to the legislation was that it will be responsible for the deaths of women. I still believe that to be true, primarily for street workers. I cannot help but wonder if well established sex workers who do actually screen for their personal safety are not on their very individual level very happy with the legislation as it now exists. I certainly do not see SP's here being at all vocal about the legislation other than to use its existence as a way of telling clients who they can actually trust. As for Mr. Trudeau and Jody Wilson-Raybould I shall be a bit more patient and see if their, "Sunny Days", indeed is real.

1 pointInstead of telling her straight up you made other arrangements (which can be considered as rude), I suggest you tell her you preffer to book in advance. In your very first message, tell her at what time you would like to book, so she will know when to expect you. ''Hey 'her name'. How are you? This is 'your name'. Saw your ad on 'website'. Would you be available at 'time'?'' See the difference? Smoother, she knows exactly where to stand, and give you the proper response. If she replies she is available, be sure to confirm whereabouts and rates. I would be surprise she would be willing to discuss services, tho.

1 pointI am a mac user who uses Firefox for everything and Safari for certain things. I've noticed a drop in responsive links and webpages myself. Waiting for the dial to finally stop going around and around. I thought it was my connection (was seriously going to complain to my Provider) but realized others have been experiencing the same issue. (for instance on facebook, I've found it's been flaky and slow, not responsive or fast) I am only aware of the facebook one and some other websites I use. Google is the only instant webpage that comes up... go figure it's Google. I use Safari for YouTube now. It kept crashing Firefox and freezing everything. Try switching things into a different web browser if you can. Have you emptied your History? Cache, Cookies, History? etc. Usually that helps a lot of the web issues, cause it catches all this unwanted crap. If you don't normally empty it, it may take a few moments and can slow your web browser down till it's done, I'd recommend not having a lot of links open when doing it. Ensure you bookmark websites, bookmarks don't get deleted when doing this process. I hope this is helpful. I don't know a lot about computers but I know a few things to keep them running okay, things that everyone should at least do once a month.
-
1 pointbe careful of these quick oil change places. They try to up sell you on a lot of there products. Such as a Engine flush. I read that most car manufacturers don't recommend an oil flush. I've been told the same thing from several mechanics? Any mechanics here can verify this?

1 pointAm I the only one here who is still friends with their ex? lol. I just like living alone because I am a loner type and need my space. After a while being married for some, the living situation is like living with your brother or sister and I have a big family, so no thanks. Been there, done that. I like being single. I do whatever I want. Marriage is definitely overrated imo. Instead of "till death do us part", people should just say "Lets just see how it goes." ;) I have discovered in my mature years that the most important relationship is between you and yourself. Everyone else is secondary. So for now, it's just me, myself and I.

1 pointI always like to hear a man's voice before I decide to meet with them. Because of my strong intuition and psychic abilities, I pick up on their voice and I am ALWAYS right. This is ultimately my deciding factor in meeting someone just as other ladies have a screening policy.. this is mine after speaking with a person for a few minutes. I have this one type of voice that I love hearing in a man. It's not too deep but certainly not high pitched either. lol. It has to have some cheerfulness because a positive attitude is important to me. If it turns me off or I don't like what I hear even if they sound nice (something may be off for me), I will not see them and decline for whatever reason. With the voices, I just seem to know who I will be dealing with right down to their characteristics and the type of person they are. When they sound very outgoing, that's a huge turn on for me because I'm outgoing. They say not to judge a book by its cover but the voice gives it away all the time. Good or bad. I have made assumptions a few times where the person may have sounded monotone or not appealing but they turned out to be nice and perhaps just shy and introverted. However, something else that may be unsavory about a person always catches my attention and I listen to my instincts with that. Myself, I have been blessed with a voice that usually catches people off guard with them either saying to me "Is this Nicki?" and they later tell me that my voice caught them by surprise because it's a very sweet, innocent sounding voice but also sexy as I've been told many times. Back in the old days when I had a home phone, telemarketers would call and say to me "Hi, are your parents home?" to which I would respond "Yes, just a minute" and then I'd leave the phone down on the table and continue cooking dinner. lol. I have a terribly young sounding voice and I have also worked in the past as a phone sex operator when I was going to school. I did very well with that.

1 pointMy cat literally took a chunk out of the palm of my hand biting me yesterday when I was petting him. Then he flew out of the house and climbed up a tree. lol... He is a fiesty little one... kind of like his owner. ;)

1 pointSadly, I think I misjudged the cultural consensus on this issue at time the law was passed. Maybe I was projecting my own feelings onto others. I thought Harper was doing something unpopular. I think I was just out of touch. I now believe that most Canadians are anti-sex trade. I think most people believe that the sex trade and feminism are incompatible. I think Trudeau will find greater popularity presenting himself as a feminist with his gender-balanced cabinet and his attacks on the wage gap and telling young girls to believe they can become world leaders than he ever will by re-legalizing the sex trade. I don't see any conflict as to why he can't do all those other obviously feministy things and still be pro-sex trade, but I think most people see it as mixed messages and he'll stick with the popular message. I hope I'm wrong.

1 pointAccording to the Justice Minister, this is on their radar and will be looked at and I think that may begin soonish. She has mentioned on numerous occasions when asked that it will be addressed and those it impacts included in the conversation. Up until this point, the Liberals had bigger fish to fry with only two examples being the assisted suicide bill that was on a time limit and the missing indigenous women. With the budget announcement last week, plans are in place for both so now would be a good time for a push on the Minster. This legislation may be exceedingly important to us but when you're a new government with a list of things to correct, it may not be a top priority on the priority list.

1 point"I feel the reason the whole C-36 debacle isn't garnering much attention is that it's somewhat of a hot potato.... no one really wants to handle it" The backroom guys and gals will decide whether it's an issue that has traction with the electorate at large and if there's nothing to be gained they'll keep their head down. Pot is a whole other issue and even though there's much more traction with the electorate I don't expect much concrete to happen until 12-18 months out from election. If they were serious it would be decriminalized now. In the end it's politics sunny days or not. Peace MG
-
1 pointIf Trudeau and his cabinet played their cards right, they could come out looking like heroes, rectifying the wrongs of the Harper government. I feel the reason the whole C-36 debacle isn't garnering much attention is that it's somewhat of a hot potato.... no one really wants to handle it. The key is really how the entire issue is framed. If I was Trudeau, I wouldn't even mention prostitution per se: First off, it's about respecting the Supreme Court and abiding by its ruling, both in the letter of the law and the spirit of the law. Also, it's about treating all working Canadians fairly and equitably. Work is work, whether it's sexwork or something else, and should be accorded the same rights and privileges across the board. Second it's about protecting the vulnerable and marginalized workers. Safety is a basic right for all, and the laws governing sexwork in Canada should be written and applied to reflect this. Third, it's about separation of Church and State. We live in a democracy, not a dictatorship. The notion that the ideals of a specific segment of society should be imposed on the whole through legislation is anathema to independent thought. It's about giving agency to men and women in deciding how or how not to use one's own body. Trudeau could even invoke the famous words of his father... "As my father once said, The state has no business in the bedrooms of the nation!" I could see it now... ah, if only... Point being, the sooner government as a whole realizes that prostitution is a ubiquitous facet of our society, the better off we'll be. It's not going away, folks. Every so often I'll hear the Liberals give a sound byte on the topic, but nothing ever extends from there. This would be the perfect time to do it, as it's still early enough in their term that it will be forgotten about by the time the next election rolls around. As a side note, why is it that Ms. Bedford isn't continuing the court battle for us? After all, she's the one who started it...

1 pointI've touched on this before with this site, and for one being a little longer in the tooth have been enjoying the variety of responses the ladies have been offering. Thank you. As with some of the older men here, we've experienced life pre internet. When lifestyles such as this were, for lack of another word, a bit more clandestine and a bit more of a search. Women and men interacted a little slower than the speed of data. As I've been discovering this sight , a recurring theme on male age that overall is respect, courtesy etc. This of course is a general observation not a rule, I was a young bull once and held the same respect for Ladies as I do now. So my question for the Ladies, how much do you think the internet and social media, have played in the real world affects on mens sexuality today. How has the chase, seduction ,approach to women has changed from 40 years ago. A little long winded(sorry), but its interesting to put some perspective on this. And hey, you Ladies have been great . Thanks for any thoughts.

1 pointThe overwhelming majority of ads on Winnipeg Backpage are indeed sketchy. However, that may not be the case in other Canadian cities. The rule of thumb that I follow is this: if Backpage is the only site where a lady advertises, be very wary. If she advertises on other sites such as this one, the other board, Escorts Canada, etc. IN ADDITION TO Backpage, she's probably OK. Whatever the case, do your research wherever you can find reliable information. Don't forget, this board severely restricts negative posts, whether legitimate or not, so many of the not-so-good experiences don't get reported here.

1 pointAlthough I do not wish to be associate in any ways with that website, I can give it what its worth. There's a lot of wonderful SPs advertising on there. Some dont even know of LYLA and E-C. Also, some SPs on here are using it as a complement to their marketing. But all the ''fakes and flakes'' (to cite CK) are burrying them under their crap. That's the exact definition of diamond in the rough. Do your homeworks properly (I can provide a list of well known and reliable tools), do not rely to much on mouth-to-ear or rumours (a hobbiest opinion can always be bias or shill), see if she has a reco. Then, ask for inputs to reliable members, if you still not sure. First and foremost, FOLLOW YOUR GUTS (not your d***). Stay safe, and have a nice day!..

1 pointI don't have an age restriction, as long as the client is of age (I check ID for young gentleman) and who are respectful. Nothing else should matter. I don't have an ideal age bracket that I connect more with. I am more connected to personality. They can be anyone, a 20 y/o can see me, we hit it off, sweetest client ever, we got along well, then if a client in his 30s sees me and no connection. Any age this happens, think about going on dates with someone... or your co-workers. It depends on the client and how he is, his personality and I am sure clients have seen me and didn't feel they connected, I could feel the same way back. Age is just a number, in most cases it's very irrelevant to me (again, need to be the legal age). Some gentleman before they see me, even though they've confirmed, they tell me about themselves. What I mean by this is they give their age, height, weight, body shape, etc., and ask if I am okay with their appearance over text. It's very irrelevant to me, I don't care if the client is fit, obese, smart, blue or has grey hair. It is common for older gentleman to ask if I am comfortable with older gentleman, I always respond I am comfortable with older men (I always am asked, "is it weird seeing me 'cause I am much older than you are?") I don't have an ideal age bracket because everyone is different. I could hit it off with a 70 y/o, 30 y/o, 25 y/o, etc., to see me, respect is needed. If someone is rude there is no need for me to see someone regardless of their age or what they look like. Respect, kindness, and a little bit of caring into contacting me goes a very long way. Summary: Age doesn't matter to me. (as long the gentleman is of age)
-
1 pointReverse massage is an option where I am but to be honest it's rarely offered and most of the time I politely decline if it is. In my experience, the clients I've seen take that option the wrong way and assume its an invitation to stick fingers and hands where they don't belong. I'm not opposed to such things, but I would have to get to know someone over a few sessions before being comfortable with that. Asking permission is always appreciated as well. Seems sometimes people forget common manners. If you're offering a massage, give a massage, plain and simple. If I want other things, I'm not shy and will tell you. Otherwise, be respectful.
-
1 pointI love being offered a massage!! Especially if a it is a good massage. Many client don't focus on releasing tension in my muscles, they just skip right to the good stuff. Which is fine too! It just makes a good massage that much more special (and a turn on).
-
1 pointI don't really have a strong preference for a certain age bracket. The majority of my clients are 40+ and I've maybe had one or two clients under 30 ever? I have a lot of preferences and requirements when it comes to who I'll see, but age is pretty low on that list, and hasn't been a strong predictor for me of the good or bad qualities I see in clients.
-
1 pointI'm all for being respectful and mature. I see most ladies like a client who won't stress them out. I'm older and respectful but I don't like to be too mature. I like fun, I like a lady who can make me feel younger, I like playfulness. I genuinely care for the ladies I see and I appreciate it when they make this old guy happy. :) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
-
1 pointDitto. I much prefer 35+. I book 30+ too many younger guys were no showing/canceling last min even when they became regulars, being disrespectful, not having enough money to pay etc. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
-
1 pointI like to see gentlemen 35+, again for many of the same reasons as the majority of the ladies, my reasoning is I find them more respectful, and we are more in Sync with one another. They do not ask idiotic questions, for example" how many shots in an hour, can I cum in your mouth, or can you give me a student discount!" Men that are my generation and older, are more about the connection, the intimacy and just enjoying each other! Let's face it I would rather talk to someone who knows current events, then someone who brags about living at home with their parents and borrowing Mommy's car- yup literally happened to me on a date with a 24 year old,, and that's why I prefer 35 and up!!
-
1 pointMaturity matters to me. Age... not so much. There is some correlation, but less than the casual observer might expect...
-
1 pointI believe a lot of issues on this board teeter fantasy and reality. Its a very fine line there is nothing wrong with mixing the two. In my opinion linear age is quite unimportant as long as someone said its not unbelievable or 20 years difference. I believe most people are attracted to the personality, what we say, when and how. I remember a time when Ms Catherine St. Claire of Ottawa did not post photos with her ads. I had always read her posts and creative ads and I really can't recall wondering what she looked like. I just knew I was terribly interested in her opinions etc. I did not see her until we met face to face and yes she is beautiful but I liked her already so her look ( or age ) had no bearing on anything . Its the same with age. Some men like every age group and see them all. Some are comfortable with a certain age. As long as when they arrive and that age they are seeking opens the door everyone is happy.
-
1 pointEveryone is different. Some do same day-last minute bookings. Some require advance notice. Most will advertise this information on their ad or website. If the lady is someone who accepts last minute bookings, and she does not answer right away, it could be she is in a call and does not answer the phone while on an encounter. If texting, let her know if she can text back (i.e. If you get this text before xpm, feel free to reply). Some won`t reply if more then an amount of time has gone by for discretion. If leaving a voice mail, let her know she can call back by xpm. I always hesitate to reply to text messages if its much later, unless they specifically indicated it is ok to reply later. If sending an email for someone who pre-books, and if she has not replied within a 24 hour period, feel free to re-send your email. Technology sometimes messes up and emails, texts and voice mails get missed or erased. The only issue I ever have is if someone sends me a text every 5 minutes for 2 hours. Starts out Hi, then Hey, then working? then the question marks start. Especially at 2 am. Those I will never reply to and will most likely block, so I don`t even get the texts or phone calls in the future. Or if someone has been rude, crass, asked for unsafe activities, or ignored my instructions posted on my website. I agree the lady who replied it was rude to waste her time when she took so long to get back to you, and wanted you to be there in 30 minutes, is unfortunate. I'm a believer that if its meant to be, it will happen. Sorry this happened. I'm a firm believer in pre-screening your ladies. Contact them in advance to confirm their booking protocols. Introduce yourself, let her know that there are times you have a short window of opportunity, and is she interested in you contacting her if you are both available. This helps to find out in advance if you are both compatible, what her rates/protocols are. Obviously, you don't want to utilize a lot of her time, but this helps to narrow down your options for when you have time to play. If done respectfully, it helps.

1 pointThe first car I bought from a second hand car dealer was 7,778.00. My credit was approved, and I drove the car off the lot. About a year later, I was going to buy a house. I went to a mortgage broker, and he told me that with my interest, by the time the loan was paid off, I would have paid over 28,000 for the car. The dealer didn't search for a better loan, just gave me the first one (probably his uncle lol). The mortgage broker told me I had good credit, and was able to drop my car payment down to less then 150 a month and saved me a lot of money on a car that was probably only worth 3000. So, if you don't have credit to get a bank loan or similar, go to a mortgage broker and see if they can negotiate a better loan. Don't go with the loan from the second hand dealer. They don't make their profit from the sale of the car, but in fact on the loan they get you. Also, if you are planning on getting your first mortgage soon, wait to buy a car until after you buy your home. It's easier to get a car loan AFTER you buy a home, but mortgage companies get weird if you have car loans when deciding to grant a mortgage.

1 pointWhen dealing with mechanics, word of mouth referrals is the way to go. If you don't know anyone who can attest to a good honest mechanic, best to shop around. In the past I always found Gary's to be better over Canadian Tire. I live in Orleans and found my dealings with Orleans Auto on St. Joseph to be honest and fair.
-
1 pointAnother trick that they use to negotiate is that they ask what payment amount would suit your budget. And if they could meet your amount would you buy? All they do is change the length of loan to make it fit your budget. What could have been a year loan is now a 7 or 8 year loan. You can afford to pay it, but with the interest charges you will be paying for a few extra years. Negotiate the price of the car with all taxes and fees. Get the price down before you negotiate financing or your trade in. Otherwise they will play around with the trade in value to make you think you got a good deal. Remember that no matter what deal you make, they will still make a lot of money off of you in the long wrong. If you follow their maintenance schedule and do it at there garage it will cost you more then it would at a independent garage. But I usually stick with there schedule to make sure that they will honour their warrenty, if something goes wrong.

1 pointThe only info i can offer is if dealership sweetens the deal with something like a extended warranty (maybe covers the years you will be paying the loan), ask if they are going to charge you for it. I didn't find that out until after signing and taking papers home to read them. The cost to extend the warranty until payment in full is like an extra 8 months payment. I can't figure out how that works out, it still could be okay since warranty was originally some amt of km or years, whichever comes first. It kind of makes sense to be covered until car is paid in full, but I would have appreciated the opportunity to figure out the benefits for myself, before signing, and not feel like they tricked me.
-
1 pointI'm a car guy. I've agreed to buy cars over the phone/internet just by talking with the owner. Money hasn't exchanged hands until I've seen the car but I've flown to Florida, Georgia, Pennsylvania to buy. In buying a used car, I recommend starting with the mechanic/garage who will service your car or someone who knows cars very well. Some garages specialize in specific marques; they do excellent work at fair prices. I haven't had a major car repair in well over 10 years.

1 pointJust to re-affirm username taken' post. I have a good friend who is a salesman and he told me the same thing - let's face it - nobody, especially car dealers are going to give you money for nothing I.e. 0% - if you think you are getting 0% you're really not.

1 pointI used APA to get me the best price on a new car. told them what I wanted and they gave me a price. I used that to negotiate with the local dealer (the best price was in Montreal). Wound up getting a better price - end of the month, Friday at 5 pm... That said, Ottawa is a bad place to buy cars. There is very little competition. Basically there are 4 or 5 families that own all the stealerships. Beyond the concentration of market power, they fix prices for service. I once received a fax by accident - they were doing a survey amongst themselves... we pay mechanics x we charge y...

1 point+1 for the indy mechanic, but do shop around\getreferences from people you trust. The first one i ever used (2 repairs) dismissively refused to do some preventative measures while doing some other work, which ended up costing me more $ 2-3 months later when the part i had asked to be replaced broke down. I also found out much later that they did not reassemble the engine correctly after a major job, despite claiming to be experts in the car. I got lucky, as the mistake could have blown the engine. I was much happier with the mechanic I replaced them with. The Haynes manuals are a great resource if you can get one for your make\model. I got one for a friend years ago and they was thrilled to be able to change the air filter for the cost of the part and 10 minutes of their time vs the $60+ the dealership had been charging. There are plenty of things that can be done with a few simple tools and not a lot of mess. When buying, do not be afraid to visit multiple dealers of the same brand. The experience will vary between the dealers, and some are more flexible when it comes to negotiation.

1 pointA lover may make you feel weak in the knees, but have they ever made you pass out? Orgasmic syncope, that is, fainting during sex, can occur when the tension that builds up during sex is released during orgasm. The sudden and dramatic drop in heart rate and blood pressure can cause the brain to not get enough oxygen, which leads to fainting. Fortunately, orgasmic syncope is rare and usually harmless! It never happened to me, or at least there was never a lady that told me after I have awakened beside her while naked. If I did pass out after I had an orgasm ladies can you please let me know?
